If the pterygium growing, can cause Astigmatism or glare. There pterygium that grows slowly, but there is also growing rapidly. If the pterygium has been covering the center of the cornea, vision will be blurred.

Eyes are organs of the body is very important. If your eyes are susceptible to interference, then this would be very disturbing activities of the owner. The eyes are the windows of the world. Many illnesses associated with eye problems, one of them is the meat that grows on the eyeball, or that we are familiar with the term pterygium.

Pterygium is a growth of a thin fibrous membrane form of the white part of the eye network (conjunctivitis) and have an enlarged toward the cornea. Pterygium generally do not grow or enlarge, but the disorder can occur up to cover the pterygium corneas. Until now the cause factors are not so clear. But statistically, this disease is much happened out-door workers who do a lot of outdoor activities, to more often exposed by sunlight, wind and dust. Therefore, this disease is more common in the tropics.

Risk factor

Which is a risk factor is dust, sand and particles carried by the wind. Pterygium rarely suffered by the children.

Another cause is various irritant substances, genetic factors, allergies, dryness in the eyes, angiogenik factors, and papilomavirus infection.

Pterygium Symptoms

The primary symptoms of this disease are, there was a grain of sand in the eyeball. And when the examination will be found in spots that grow there due to red blood vessels disturbed. Eyes will feel free not to see, red and watery.

Pterygium eMedicine

How do I prevent the excessive growth of pterygium?

For prevention, the best step is to avoid risk factors.

Use sun glasses or a hat when doing outdoor activities.

Using a special eye drops.

Our eyes examined regularly to the eye doctor to determine the existence of symptoms or interference with our eyes.

If the pterygium growing, can cause Astigmatism or glare. There pterygium that grows slowly, but there is also growing rapidly. If the pterygium has been covering the center of the cornea, vision will be blurred.

Pterygium Surgery

If forced to, or is there a growing spots in the area of the cornea, especially near the edge of the pupils, then the only way is to do the surgery. For if this problem is left will interfere with the patient’s view. Pterygium retrieval operation is relatively safe. so you do not have to worry about it. Pterygium operation performed with local anesthesia, by way of injecting drugs into the pterygium tissue also given anti-sickness drops. During surgery the patient will not feel pain. Treatment course that does not prevent infection, do not get water for 1 week, do not be exposed to dust, too. The cost is quite cheap surgery. Post operative treatment will usually be given information such as the use of radiation beam B or other therapies.

This causes inflammation mediators in the eye, which may be briefly or long endure. About 20% of people have a level of pink eye allergy.

Pink eyes and seasonal allergies are allergic to the red eye development is the most common type of allergic reaction in the eye. Red eye often seasonal allergy that is caused by tree pollen or dust, so this type of relief, especially in spring or early summer. Red eye usually relapse Vernal each spring and lost in the autumn and winter. Many children do not experience it again at the age of young adults.

Allergic Conjunctivitis Symptoms

People with all forms of red eyes allergic (Allergic conjunctivitis) grow quickly and become itchy burnt feeling in both eyes. Although it is usually the same, sometimes, one eye may be more infected than the other eye. Conjunctiva to red, and sometimes swollen conjunctiva, the surface of the eyeball appear pudgy so many people are disturbed. In the eyes seasonal and sustainable, it is very much a thin watery stool. This view is rarely affected.

On the pink eye Vernal, dirt and a lot of eyes as mucus. Unlike the type of other allergic red eyes, red eyes often affect the cornea Vernal, and ulcer pain that can arise. This ulcer causes excessive sensitivity to bright light and sometimes cause a permanent reduction of sight.

Allergic conjunctivitis Treatment

Conditions treated with anti-allergy eye drops. Such drugs include cromolyn, lodoxamide, olopatadine, and antihistamine eye drops, such as emedastine and levocabastine. Ketorolac eye drops have any anti inflammation and help overcome the symptoms. Corticosteroid eye drops have any anti inflammation better, but they should not be used more than a few weeks without a sighting stick because they can cause increased pressure in the eye (glaucoma), cataracts, and increase the risk of eye infection. Recently, the eye drops that can prevent the causes and effects of swelling, such as azelastine, nedocromil, and pemirolast, have been used well.

Melanoma can be called as a malignant eye tumor disease. But, it is not the only one we should scare. Actually there are three families of tumor, that are: adneksa, orbita and Metastasis. Melanoma including in the family of adneksa. Other than melanoma, adneksa tumor family (ruler lid and white eye membrane) also including basalioma, adenocarsinoma, and carcinoma cell squamosa.

Melanoma symptoms

If the shape of melanoma is a black speck, basalinoma shaped like a stained wound located at the tip of the lid. This will not be lost just by giving antibiotics. while adenocarsinoma similar shapes a repeated bump that grows in one place. Cute in its shapes that make adenocarsinoma often being belittled. Adenocarsinoma classified to a ‘die hard’, often grow back after the surgery.

Adneksa last family member, carcinoma cells squamosa, identified as a small bump that is growth on the border in the skin and eyes. It can also appear between the black and white side of the eye. Existence that is known since the early, can be taken completely. But if kept, this tumor can penetrate to the back side of the eye. The troubling eye must be taken in whole.

Different to adneksa tumor family, the orbita tumor family have a habit, mass pile up at the back of the eyeball. So that one of the patients eye seen protruding out. If the tumor mass derived from the organ of it self, is called the mass rimer. But if it comes from other organs, the tumor appears to be rated in the Metastasis family. Orbita tigerish can develop quickly, between two month to one year since the first symptoms appear. This tumor also cause pain that extraordinary. To ensure the highest level of orbita tumor violence, the patient must undergo several examinations including CTScan. Meanwhile, to support the diagnosis, almost always to be done a biopsy (sample of tumor) first. from there will know what steps need to be carried out to cure the patient. Whether through surgery, through chemotherapy or radiation. Irradiation is done if the tumor is the distribution of local (only in the eye area), whereas chemotherapy was performed if the tumor has spread to other body parts.

Patients with violent Orbita who choose surgery way, must think in long-term. Because this tumor removal process will be very extreme. Nearly all the eyes will be lifted. Start from eyelid, eyeball, to all contained within the back of the ball. So that left only the bones, the bones around the eye only. Utilizing of the imitation eye, may be allowed, at least two months after the surgery is completed.

Metastasis eye tumor

This type of tumor is not caused from the eye, but the result of other organs in the body such as brain tumor, kidney, liver prostate, breast and bowel.

The manifestation of Metastasis tumor is generally the same as the orbita, so the taking care is similar. as a note, if the tumor is the eye (Metastasis), that means the main tumor (breast, liver etc) is located on the end of the stadium.

Outside the three main families of tumor, there is still another type of eyeball tumor. One is retino blastoma. Symptoms are, eyes shine like cat eyes in the night. In the early stages, this tumor can be taken complete with laser rays eye or lifting the ball without the lid. But if it became too violent, there is no way other than chemotherapy.

The eye tumor was not only attacks the eyes, but also other organs. All the malignant tumor has spread of a serious power. Basalioma is become the only one that is not spread, although still cause a very serious local destruction.

RETINOPATHY Diabetic condition is a result of diabetes complications, damage to blood vessel in the network sensitive to the back of the eye (retina). Diabetes disease that can affect the retina and cause blindness result.

Dr Ian Yeo Yew San, ophthalmologist who served as a consultant in the Singapore National Eye Center who joined the service in the health tourism, FlyFreeForHealth, said, “When exposed to diabetes, the body does not use the sugar (glucose) properly. If blood sugar is too high, the natural eye lens will increase so that the view-blur. Later, the amount of sugar that is too much can damage the small blood vessel which gives nutrition to the retina (capillary). So retinopathy diabetic will arise. ”

Sign and symptoms

At the initial stage, retinopathy diabetic have no symptoms or only cause mild eye disturbances. However, the long run, can culminate in blindness. Retinopathy diabetic usually affect both eyes.

Symptoms of diabetic retinopathy include:
- spots float in my vision
- blurred vision or does not focus
- Line-or dark red lines that impede the vision
- Difficult to see at night
- Vision is lost / blind

Vetting / Screening for Diabetic Retinopathy

As part of the eye test, your doctor will make an image of the retina called fluorescein angiography. First, the doctor will increase pupil and then take it picture. Then, a special liquid color will be injected intravenously into the arm. Other photos will be taken along with the liquid color that flows in and start to circulates in the eyes. Doctors will use the photos to see where the vein is closed, damaged or leaking.

Doctors usually will also ask that you undergo a Optical Coherence Tomography (Oct) test. The test produces images of the retina cross-examination that may indicate thickness retina and to determine whether the fluid was leaking into the retina network.

Dr Yeo suggest to the patient to control diabetes with diet and medication to slow or prevent the development of diabetic retinopathy or other complications. It is a good idea to do eye examination once a year.
